UNAVAILABLE ON SCHEDULER
TPS2000 allows
you the flexibility to write directly
onto the scheduler! This makes it very
easy to block off times for new patients without much data on hand. It also brings with it a bit more
responsibility. Because the free form
function is flexible, it is also a little “touchy”. I have recently had a few offices fax and ask
how to remove an “unavailable” cell from the scheduler. They didn’t know how it got there. Unfortunately, getting there was easy. Click into an empty cell on the scheduler,
either click into the display window, or hit the space bar (easy to hit the
space bar accidentally) now change your mind and click somewhere else. The unavailable message has just taken up residence
in the first cell.
To remove this cell
(or any other free form cell) from the scheduler do the following:
Click once into the
cell that contains the free form writing.
Now, click into the
display window at the top of the scheduler screen

Highlight the typing
in this cell (Note, if the cell is just gray with no typing, highlight the
first line of the display window anyway).
Now click DELETE on
your keyboard. Then click somewhere else
on the scheduler.
PLEASE NOTE: There have been 3 reports of sites that have
had a free form entry “fill” a column covering all regularly scheduled
patients. In each case, the cell being
typed into was the LAST cell in that column.
The programming department is looking into this currently, in the mean
time, it would be safest to not type directly into the last cell on the
screen. (Suggestion: When this action is needed, extend the
scheduler by 1 appointment slot for that day).
If you have been one
of the unlucky few who have had a cell “fill” in this manner, click on the [4] (Data
Validation Box). This will let TPS2000
go through and cleanup the error. You
will also need to re-apply your provider’s schedules after this has been done.
