DELETING PATIENTS & CLAIMS

If you find that you have Blank or Empty patient records, or that a patient record has been entered more than one time, you may, under 1 condition, delete these entries.

 

A patient file may be deleted if:

There is no claim attached to this patient record.

The claim, if attached, has absolutely NO transaction records in the ledger.

 

To delete Blank or Empty patient records

Click on the icon for Patient Entry on the navigation bar.  If a patient record comes up on the screen, click on the “show list of records” icon to get the list of patients.  Use one of the search options to find the record you wish to remove.  You may find by typing in the Patient Code in the first column of the search grid.  If the Patient Code is not known, either click into the Last Name column, or hit the TAB key to get into this column.  Now type in part of the patient’s last name to go to that portion of the list. (Please Note:  You need to type continuously and quickly.  If you hesitate while searching, it starts a new search).  Double click to select the entry.  Now click on the delete icon (X)on the navigation bar to remove this record.

 

To delete Blank or Empty patient records with Claim

Click on the icon for Patient Entry on the navigation bar.  If a patient record comes up on the screen, click on the “show list of records” icon to get the list of patients.  Use one of the search options to find the record you wish to remove.  You may find by typing in the Patient Code in the first column of the search grid.  If the Patient Code is not known, either click into the Last Name column, or hit the TAB key to get into this column.  Now type in part of the patient’s last name to go to that portion of the list. (Please Note:  You need to type continuously and quickly.  If you hesitate while searching, it starts a new search).  Double click to select the entry. Once you have the patient record on the screen, click on the Patient Claims icon on the navigation bar.  This will bring up the active claim for this entry.   Now click on the delete icon (X)on the navigation bar to remove this claim record.  (NOTE:  When the claim record is deleted, it will bring up the next patient’s claim.  Please exercise caution and do not continue to hit delete without checking.).  Use the “X” in the upper right hand corner of the Claims screen to close the Patient Claims screen.  You will be back on the Patient Record. .   Now click on the delete icon (X)on the navigation bar to remove this record.
