My Patient’s Diagnosis file has characters like !, “ and #
In
the Patient’s Claim file you have a TAB labeled DIAGNOSIS. On this tab you may enter any and all
diagnosis codes that are applicable for this claim. In many cases, you might not want to remove a
diagnosis when it is no longer applicable, just move it to the bottom of the
list where it won’t print on the current HCFA billings.

The
numbering field found to the left of the Diagnosis entries on this claim is
limited to 1 character. What this means
is that as soon as you have 9 diagnostic codes listed for this claim, the next
code entered will not contain a number in this field, but a character
instead.
This
is strictly for internal use and will not be reflected on any other form or
printing. Do not be alarmed or concerned
about these characters.

To alter the order in which your diagnosis entries appear, you may move the
diagnosis entries around by changing the number to the left of the ICD
Code. To move the entry that is
currently marked as 6, to the #2 position, arrow to the “6” entry and type over
the 6 with the number 2 then arrow off the line. The diagnosis you designated will move up to
the second position and all other entries below this will move down and
renumber themselves.
If you wish to delete a
diagnosis from this claim, click on the diagnosis line that you wish to
remove. Now click on the “X” on the tool
bar. You will see the following message:

By clicking Yes, you
confirm that you wish to remove this entry.
