At some time in the future, TPS2000 will allow you to modify the sequence of search columns and save the customized settings into future sessions.
Some clinics have
requested that the Last Name comes up first as a search grid item, instead of
the Patient Code. Notice that this document shows only a TEMPORARY handling for
the situation. Every time you update to a new program version, or run EON
UPDATE, you will need to perform these steps again.
To set the system up
so that the LAST NAME is the first column in Search Grids, perform the
following steps.
Notice that these
steps are fairly technical and need to be followed precisely, otherwise you
will get error messages on the Search Grids. If
you do happen to make mistakes, you can always bring the system back to
the original state by using the EON UPDATE command from the TPS2000 directory.
Login to TPS2000 as
HERMAN, password = SUPERMAN. (Do not use this password for normal day-to-day
use.)
Go to the Basic System
Information screen and select "Search Grid Tables and Column Layout".
Then scroll the data so that it displays as here:

The numbers in the
first column determine the sort order in the Search Grids for the PMPAT Patient
Table and for the PMCLAIM Claims Table.
Change the
"1", "2", and "3"s in the first column to be like
this:

A
Notice that only the
1, 2 and 3 in the PMPAT and PMCLAIM lines have changed. Make sure that you
DON'T introduce any extra spaces or delete any of the existing spaces in that column.
Press the Exit
button.
If you go back into
this screen, you will see that the sort order of the lines has changed, so that
Last Name is first. That is ok.
Log out of TPS2000
and log back in. If you go into the Search Grid, for Patients or Claims now,
Name will be the first column.
You can always back
out of your changes by running the EON UPDATE command. But make sure that
nobody is logged in to the system if you do this command.
