HOW TO USE THE FOLLOW-UP CENTER

 

 

The “Follow-Up Center” was designed to help with your insurance collections.  It is intended to be used to make your notes while you are on the phone with a particular insurance company.

 

From the “Select a File to Open” menu choose “Follow-Up Center”. 


Make your selection.  You may see all carriers, or sort so that you only see those carriers that have outstanding balances greater than 30 days, 60 days or 90 days.  You may also exclude Non-assignment cases.  Once you have made your selection click on [Select Carriers]

 

This brings up a screen that appears to be divided in 2 parts.  The top will show a scroll list of all of the Insurance Carriers in your system.  The bottom portion of the screen will be blank.

 

 


Scroll through the list to select the first carrier for whom you need to do some follow up calls.  Highlight this carrier then click on LOAD PATIENT CLAIMS.  This will fill in the bottom screen with any patient under this insurance carrier that has outstanding insurance balances.  The phone number for the insurance company will be on the screen, call them.  When you have connected with a “live person”, click on the first patient for whom you need their assistance then click on the PATIENT DETAILS TAB.  You will now have the days since this service was billed, the visit date and description of the service. 

 


 

To add notes to the “Follow-Up Center” click on the “+” Plus Sign on your navigation bar.  Today’s date and time will fill in on the entry line.  Make your notes in the NOTES OF FOLLOW-UP AND HANDLING.  If you need a reminder to call this insurance company again, you may enter a date in the FOLLOW-UP column.  A message will be added to your Daily Messages on the date you enter here.
