HOW TO SETUP NOTES
CATEGORIES
The Patient
Note/Reporting section of TPS 2000 is a powerful tool. In this area, you will create the categories
to show the different types of notes and letters that your office will use.
We have started you out
with the following categories already in place:
Patient Photo / Identification
Attorney Notes
Medical Notes
Collection Notes
General Notes
Insurance Notes
Narrative Letters
S.O.A.P. Notes

To ADD NOTES CATEGORIES
to your list, click on [Add New Entry] button.
You will need to enter the following fields:
CODE: This code is up to 3 characters
(these may be numeric, alpha or a combination).
The code needs to be UNIQUE. This
is vital as it is how TPS2000 will keep the services and/or notes remain
grouped properly.
NOTES CATEGORY: This
is the name that you have chosen for this specific entry (i.e. Treatment Notes).
DEFAULT FORM CODE: If there is a specific form that you wish
the printouts from this category to use as a default, you will list the form
code here. In most cases this will not
be necessary, as you may select any form code available prior to printing your
notes.
If you do wish to default
a category of notes so that it will print on a special form type, you need to
find the report ID for this layout. To
find this entry, click on the [Edit] button and you will see a screen similar
to the following:

Arrow down to the layout
that you wish to use. Across from this
layout you will see the Report ID field.
