HOW TO SETUP THE
PHYSICIANS (REFERRING) LIST
TPS 2000 gives you the
ability to enter all of the physicians that refer patients to your office. This list is then available when enter
patient claims.
Click on the Open File
Folder on the task bar and select Physician (referring) Information.

TO ADD A NEW ENTRY
Click the plus (+) sign
to start a new record.
From here is simply
typing in the information. You have the
ability to setup seven different numbers for identification of this provider. A single physician may refer many different
patients to your office. Some may
require the Medicare ID, some the Blue Shield, etc. This type of setup allows you to set up the
physician once, then, when entering in the patient claim, select the correct number
by which this case will recognize the referring physician.
There is a field for
Contact. If there is a specific person
with whom you deal at this physician’s office, you may enter here for your
records.
The field, Taxonomy Code,
is where you will enter the code that represents the classification for this
practitioner.
When you have completed
this entry, simply click the plus (+) to add another entry, or close the screen
with the small “X” in the upper right hand corner.
TO EDIT AND EXISTING
ENTRY
There may be times when
an existing entry in the program needs to be corrected or changed. A new address, phone number, or even a name
change may be needed.
Click on the Open File
Folder on the task bar and select Physician (referring) Information.
When the screen opens,
click on the “show a list of records” to bring up the full list of all entries
in this area.

This will bring up a
search grid. Find the entry that needs
to be corrected and double click or hit enter to bring up this record.
You are now ready to make
your changes.
