HOW TO SETUP
INVENTORY/SERVICE CATEGORIES
In this area you will
divide up both the services and inventory items into different categories.
Services offered in your
office can be divided into categories or types of services that you offer. Such as Reports, Exams, Visits and
X-Rays.
The categorization of
your inventory can be done several ways:
By company / vendor, product or a combination of both. Selection of the
way that you will enter inventory will depend on the number of companies that
you deal with and the quantity of supplies you keep on hand. Note:
This category layout is how the front desk will find these
products. The better organized the
faster she /he will be able to find them.

To ADD INVENTORY/SERVICE
CATEGORIES to your list, open the System Code Table Registry (Basic System
Information) and use the pull down arrow to find the Inventory/Services
Categories. Next click on the [Add New
Entry] button. You will need to enter
the following fields:
CODE: This code is up to 3 characters
(these may be numeric, alpha or a combination).
The code needs to be UNIQUE. This
is vital as it is how TPS2000 will keep the services and/or inventory items
grouped properly.
SORT#: This is the order in which you wish
these categories to appear at the front desk.
(NOTE: the sort order may be
changed at any time, see the fax on Resorting Service/Inventory items for this
information).
INVENTORY OR SERVICE
CATEGORY: This is the name that
you have chosen for this specific entry (i.e.
OFFICE VISITS, or SUPPORTS).
INVENTORY=N SERVICE=Y: In this area you will see SERV? To
the far right of each line. If this category is to represent services
items, type in a capital “Y”. If this
category is to represent inventory items, type in a capital “N”.
