EON SYSTEMS, INC. CELEBRATES 22 YEARS
AS AN INDUSTRY LEADER
Clearwater, FL— EON Systems, Inc., an EHR and billing software developer for the healthcare industry, celebrates its 22nd anniversary this month. Derek Greenwood, the founder and CEO of EON Systems, addressed his staff at a special presentation this week.
“Typically, EON has always been the company to push the technology boundaries,” Greenwood told his staff. He cited examples of integrating electronic scheduling, a message center, inventory module and EON’s unique Insurance Follow Up Center. He said that EON software was built on the innovative principle of “flow sensitive” software. Flow sensitive means the software follows with the flow of a patient as they move through the office, where competitors use menus and buttons. “A lot of EON software functionality has been copied by our competitors, but that is the best form of flattery and I’m honored by it,“ said Greenwood.
Mr. Greenwood spoke of the humble beginnings of EON on a card table in the basement of his father’s house to this past year being the company’s best growth year yet, even in the middle of the economic recession. The company now resides in a 6500 sq. ft. building and employs 30 staff.
Greenwood pointed out that there will be a lot of change over the next five years, alluding to the government incentive program. He felt that EON’s move to a complete digital office suite several years ago puts the company in a perfect position for those changes.
