Re: HIPAA 5010 Compliance Deadline Extended
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced its decision to provide a 90-day grace period for enforcement of the HIPAA 5010 transactions sets, which have a compliance date of January 1, 2012. They will not initiate enforcement until March 31, 2012. EON Systems is still working to complete its 5010 updates during the next few weeks.

We are currently programming a special add-on module that will allow EON software to gain full EHR certification in the near future. We would like to find out from you some important information so that we can work out the final aspects of this and complete our costing.
Although Chiropractors are the main beneficiaries of the EHR stimulus money, we have found that some Physical Therapists and those in other disciplines may also be interested in this since they may be required to have certified software in future years in order to avoid Medicare deductions.
The questions in the following link will help us complete the certification module, please answer them as soon as possible.
